The Citation reads as follows:-
The Australian Federation
of
Civil Celebrants
asks
Dally Raymond Messenger
to honour it by accepting its offer of
Life Membership
so that it can have the privilege
of recognising his admirable
and significant achievements as –
1. The celebrant who has most contributed to the Civil Celebrant Program since its inception.
2. The person who has defended a high standard of service to the public
against diverse pressures.
3. The person who has an incomparable record as a top class celebrant.
4. The official of celebrant organisations who has passionately advocated
freedom of choice, standards of service, proper selection and training, and
artistic content of ceremonies in response to community need.
5. The founder and inaugural President of the original Funeral Celebrants
Association of Australia which established a unique professionalism in
non-religious and personally prepared funeral ceremonies.
6. The author/compiler of the invaluable handbook of the trade,
“Ceremonies for Today”.
